Diabetes is a disease of the pancreas related to the release of insulin into the blood stream. Diabetes occurs when a nutrition deficient pancreas does not produce or properly use insulin in order to convert sugar, starches and other food into energy that is needed for daily life.
There are more than 16 million Americans who suffer from diabetes. Each day, approximately 2,500 people are diagnosed with diabetes. Almost 1 million people will be diagnosed by this year alone! What's even more shocking is that millions of Americans are not even aware that they have this disease!
What Medicine Has To Offer
Diabetes is one of the most profitable of all diseases as from the time of onset to the time of death because there are many other diseases that manifest along with diabetes. The profits from drugs used to treat all these conditions add up to billions. The latest "advanced treatment" modern medicine has to offer is to transplant the Islets of Langerhans, which are special clusters of cells in the pancreas. If the transplant is a success you must take immune suppressing anti-rejection drugs for the rest of your life. This is totally unnecessary as are the costs and suffering associated with diabetes if you only knew the cause.
Physicians prescribe medications to treat diabetes. Medications never cure diabetes and they all have side effects. All diabetic medicines can be categorized into the following classes:
INSULIN Lowers blood glucose levels. There are many brands and types on the market that differ based on when it begins to work, when it works hardest, and the duration of time it works. Side effects include low blood glucose level, weight gain, and allergic reactions.
SULFONYLUREA These drugs cause the pancreas to make more insulin. Some brands are Glucotrol, Micronase, and DiaBeta. Side effects include low blood glucose (hypoglycemia), weight gain, rash, headaches, hypersensitivity reactions and nausea. Sulfonylureas are potentially teratogenic (cause birth defects) and cannot be used in pregnancy or in patients who intend to get pregnant.
BIGUANIDE These drugs reduce the amount of glucose that is made by the liver and helps the body better use insulin. Some brands are Glucophage and Metformin. Side effects include nausea, diarrhea, gas, loss of appetite, and metallic taste in mouth. It also increases the risk of lactic acidosis. It should not be used by persons who are at risk of heart failure, kidney disorders, lung disease and liver disease.
THIAZOLIDINEDIONE These drugs help the body cells better use insulin and reduce the amount of glucose that is made by the liver. Brands include Actos and Avandia. Some known side effects are liver damage, nausea/vomiting, abdominal pain, and fluid retention, which can aggravate heart failure.
MEGLITINIDE Stimulates pancreas to release more insulin and act more quickly. Some brands are Prandin and Starlix. Some side effects are low blood glucose and nausea.
DiaPan is a liquid herbal formula that helps nourish the pancreas to help increase circulation, increase energy and control blood sugar for type 1, type 2 and hypoglycemics. DiaPan contains no chemically generated compounds, fillers, or artificial additives and unlike pharmaceutical drugs, does not require a prescription and has ZERO negative side effects.
Even though you have diabetes, it doesn't mean you have to institutionalize yourself away from reality! Imagine being able to cheat a little bit by eating those favorite foods that your taste buds loves so much without your blood sugar spiking to the roof-top. Imagine being able to significantly reduce or even completely getting off of pharmaceutical drugs! Imagine not having to worry about the negative side effects of pharmaceutical drugs.
