Dot.com Business
 
A Dot-com company, or simply a dot-com, is a company which does most of its business on the Internet, usually through a website that uses the popular top-level domain, ".com" (in turn derived from the word "commercial"). During the stock market crash ending the Dot-com bubble, many failed and failing companies became known as dot-bombs, dot-cons, dot-composts or dot-gones.
 
While dot-com can refer to present day companies, it is also used specifically to refer to companies with this business model during the late 1990s. Many of these startups formed to take advantage of the surplus of venture capital funding. Many were launched with very thin business plans, sometimes with nothing more than an idea and a catchy name. The stated goal was often to "get big fast" i.e. capture a majority share of whatever market was being entered. The exit strategy usually included an IPO and a large payoff for the founders.
 
Others were existing companies that re-styled themselves as Internet companies, many of them legally changing their names to incorporate a .com suffix.
 
Dot.com businesses are seen on Google as being the most powerful business names, however;  .net is also a major power player in the mix.  Dot.com Internet business is ruled by people who are attempting to build successful businesses online.  Most of these MLM companies are designated to get rich, get wealth, make money and all sorts of misrepresented statements concerning making actual spending money in a home business.
 
A lucrative Internet business can occur if the parties involved in marketing said business are dedicated to the overall success.  They  are willing to keep focused and will forsake all other get rich quick schemes that come along, to assure their eventual profitable ROI.
 
This is seen on Google as the catch-22 syndrome.  Often times, when marketing a multi-level marketing business, other entrepreneurs will try to get those people involved in their own businesses.  This is called reverse marketing.  Reverse marketing certainly has its place and time in the overall strategy of business, yet the unwary online business man or woman, might fall prey to the "grass being greener on the other side of the Google hill."
 
If a person is willing to stay the course, learn strategies and techniques that are proven to work from the masters of the Internet, success will be inevitable.  Finding that profitable Dot.com Internet business will unlock the Google code to successful marketing, and building a sustainable home business that will withstand the test of time.
