Living Green a State of Mind
Living green is a new philosophy that has overtaken us almost overnight. We see that our planet is becoming deluged by noxious gasses, the poles are switching positions, the economy is in the tubes because of the War In The Middle East and generally, people are feeling somewhat overwhelmed as to their future, both economically and socially.
I am going to expound on my personal interpretation of green living and particularly why this is a much needed resource that we all need to be pursuing with all due fervor. Each person living and working on planet earth has a responsibility to rid themselves of the "stuff mentality." In the US, we all have too much stuff. We buy new cars, new homes, new toys, new boats and then we have to buy new storage buildings to hold all of our new stuff.
You may remember the comedian George Carlin and his take on society in general, when he made bold statements concerning people and their stuff. As a matter of fact, here is George on YouTube.com talking about stuff. Green living states that people have too much stuff. We drive too many cars, flood the shopping malls in search of more new stuff, spend our time wandering the isles of Walmart in search of, you guessed it, more stuff. I have seen people in parking lots of these big chains like Wally World come out with baskets full of meaningless stuff. Honestly, many of them did not look like they could afford any stuff at all, but somehow, they manage to buy more stuff than most people.
This article is going to segway into my perspectives on building a Good Business on the Internet. If you desire, you can become attuned to the ebb and flow of the information highway, and you can learn that selling your stuff is easy, if you know how to accomplish the process. You simply have to put your stuff in front of people that are looking for stuff. This somewhat simplistic view of material possessions may be humorous, but when you really think about this, it makes perfect sense to live a little greener and get rid of some of the stuff that you have.
We could all invest in a Good Quiet Business, by simply selling some stuff. We could actually build a SOHO business, the vision that Tom Prendergast, CEO of Inetekk had, when he built the SOHOMATIC website. You should take a moment and have a look at what he is talking about. In this site, Tom talks about the value of not buying stuff, but buying assets. I fully agree with Tom in his direct approach to most of the problems that people face in their lives, is a direct result of their thinking, planning, manipulating and greedily pursuing making huge amounts of money, to do what with? You guessed it, BUY MORE STUFF!
I personally think that buy either selling, giving away or just throwing away our excess stuff, is a very enlightening and positive influence on your life. I know that when I get too much stuff, I make sure that I get rid of the excess baggage. In this way, I am able to be more focused in my building of a Good Business on Google, rather than having to be concerned with people trying to take my stuff.
This even leads to another issue as long as we are talking about our precious stuff. I write a great many articles, press releases, blog posts and forum posts in my SEO business. This is all part of the writing career that I have been pursuing for years. I know for a fact that when you write relevant content, and place it live on Google, people will find your information. People are so caught up in protecting their personal privacy that they become enraged when someone steals their content. My take on this is you are more than welcome to use any, or all of my stuff. I am simply writing editorials and comments in a digital format. You want to use my stuff? Be my guest!
Living Greener Lives means that you no longer have to make a commute to work, you can set your own hours, you can compete in a global economy, and you will spend far less money in building a home business, than you could ever hope to accomplish in trying to build some offline business.
I consider that success on the Internet is in direct correlation with green living. I no longer have to drive my car, except for errands or vacations. I really am not concerned with the high cost of gas, because I use very little. I have either sold or given away most of my stuff, and now, I just have computer stuff. I have to tell you, I like this living greener lives concept. For me, and millions of other people, this is the choice to make.
